Submitting Federal Grant Proposals in Grants.gov

A step-by-step walkthrough of the Grants.gov submission process once all components are uploaded in your workspace.

Back to Guides

Once all your proposal components are uploaded and complete in your Grants.gov workspace, follow these steps to submit your application. Make sure you are logged in as an Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR) — not as the EBiz Point of Contact. If you haven't yet registered in SAM, see our SAM registration guide first.

1

Log in to Grants.gov as the AOR

Log in to your grants.gov account as the AOR. It will take you to the Applicant Center after you log in. Important: do not log in as EBiz Point of Contact, as you cannot submit from there.

2

Open Manage Workspaces

In the menu on the left-hand side of the page, click on "Manage Workspaces" under Grant Applications.

3

Find your proposal

Click "Search" — you don't need to type in any search terms since it brings up the most recent applications. You should see your grant proposal in the results.

4

Open the proposal workspace

Click "Manage" under Actions. This will take you to the proposal workspace.

5

Sign and submit

Click "Sign and Submit" to submit the proposal.

6

Confirm submission type

It will ask if you are changing or re-submitting a proposal. Click "No."

7

Save your confirmation

A confirmation page will indicate the proposal was submitted — we suggest saving this for your records.

Tip: Always save your confirmation page after submitting. If anything goes wrong with the submission, this confirmation is your proof that the proposal was submitted on time.
