Who We Work With

We work with public agencies and nonprofits of every size. Our clients include first-time grant applicants and experienced organizations managing multiple active awards.

School Districts and Charter Schools

We help K–12 school districts and charter schools compete for education grants from the U.S. Department of Education, state education agencies, and local funders — including GEAR UP, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and Community Schools programs.

Cities & Counties

Municipal governments have access to federal grants across workforce development, economic development, housing, infrastructure, and public safety. We help city and county agencies identify relevant RFPs and submit strong proposals.

Housing Authorities

We support public housing authorities and housing-focused nonprofits in pursuing HUD programs, HCD grants, and other federal and state housing funding, including CalHome and workforce housing initiatives.

Nonprofits

Community-based organizations, health centers, workforce programs, arts organizations, and reentry service providers rely on us to find the right federal and foundation opportunities and develop compelling, competitive proposals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from organizations exploring grant writing support.

How much does a grant writer cost?

We offer two models. For full proposal development, we provide a flat-fee quote after reviewing the RFP — the fee is based on the scope and complexity of the proposal. For targeted support, we bill at $200 per hour. Because every RFP is different, we can't quote a price before seeing the opportunity, but we provide a no-cost quote once an RFP is available. See our fees page for more detail.

Do you work on contingency?

No. Grant writing fees are not contingent on award outcomes. This is standard practice in the profession and is required by the ethics guidelines of major grant writing associations. Contingency-based fees create a conflict of interest and, in some cases, may violate federal grant rules. We charge for the work we do — research, writing, budgeting, and submission — regardless of the funding decision.

How far before the deadline should we contact you?

As early as possible. A full federal proposal typically takes 80–100 hours to complete, and the strongest proposals are built with time for strategy, collaboration, and revision. We recommend reaching out at least 4–6 weeks before the deadline. That said, if you're closer to the wire, contact us anyway — depending on our current workload and the scope of the RFP, we may still be able to help.
